South Central is a 1992 American crime-drama film, written and directed by Stephen Milburn Anderson. This film is an adaptation of the 1987 fiction novel, The Original South Central L.A. Crips by Donald Bakeer, [1] a former high school teacher in South Central Los Angeles. The film stars Glenn Plummer, Byron Minns and Christian Coleman.

He is best known for South Central, which was produced by Oliver Stone and released by Warner Bros. in 1992 and for CASH starring Sean Bean and Chris Hemsworth, released by Lionsgate in 2010.
Glenn E. Plummer (born August 18, 1961) is an American film and television actor. Plummer was featured as Bobby "Badass" Johnson in the 1992 film South Central, [1] [2] James Smith in Paul Verhoeven's 1995 Showgirls, Russ Stanhope in Dick Wolf's 1990 Nasty Boys series, and Vic Trammel in the 2008–2009 show Sons of Anarchy, among others.
South Central featured a recurring cast which included Jennifer Lopez, Shar Jackson, and Maia Campbell. The series, which was produced on a smaller budget than most sitcoms, was popular among critics for what was perceived as a realistic and sometimes dark portrayal of urban life .
