The West Point Treatment Plant is a large wastewater treatment plant in Seattle. It is located in the Magnolia neighborhood, within Discovery Park. It is at the tip of West Point, near the West Point Lighthouse. The plant opened in 1966. It treats wastewater from the city of Seattle and other nearby communities.
The northeastern extremity of West Point descends to a rocky point, upon the extremity of which was West Point lighthouse. On the opposite side of the river and north of West Point is Constitution Island; the bend between the two is locally known as Worlds End, and has very deep water of 36 fathoms (216 ft; 66 m).
Adjacent to Discovery Park is West Point, featuring the West Point Lighthouse, which was built in 1881 and is the oldest lighthouse in the area. Walking trails descend from the park to two miles (3 km) of beach and the lighthouse. West Point also contains one of Seattle's sewage treatment facilities, and several archaeological sites.
