A native of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Listach is the grandson of fellow major leaguer Nora Listach. [1] [2] He attended Natchitoches High School and went on to McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, where he played college baseball for the Highlanders.
McLennan is one of three colleges in Waco along with Baylor University and Texas State Technical College. McLennan Community College is located on 200 acres (81 ha) on the north side of town near the Bosque River and Cameron Park. The college also owns Highlander Ranch, a 200-acre (81 ha) farm about 5 miles (8.0 km) from the main campus.
Horn attended West High School in West, Texas, and played college baseball at McLennan Community College and Auburn University. He was apart of back to back 3A State Championship teams (2015 & 2016) in high school. Horn also competed in the 2017 NJCAA World Series and 2019 College World Series while at MCC and Auburn respectively. [2]

Buhner graduated from high school in 1982 and played college baseball at McLennan Community College in Waco. In his freshman season in 1983, the Highlanders made their fourth consecutive trip to the junior college world series in Grand Junction, Colorado , and won their first national title. [ 4 ]
