Antero Reservoir is a reservoir in the US state of Colorado. [ 1] It was created by the first dam placed on the South Platte River in Park County, central Colorado.
The first notable water impoundment on the South Platte is Antero Reservoir. "Antero" is derived from the Spanish word "delantero", which means "foremost" or "head", as the reservoir was the first dam on the South Platte River near the river's origin. The next dam is Spinney Mountain Reservoir.

The confluence of the South Fork Catawba River and Catawba River is submerged by Lake Wylie near the NC/SC state line. The river flows into northern South Carolina, passing Rock Hill, through Fishing Creek Reservoir near Great Falls, and into the Lake Wateree reservoir, approximately 30 miles (50 km) northeast of Columbia.
Mayo Lake is a reservoir located in northeastern Person County, North Carolina. Boating entrance, walking trails, swimming access, picnic and camp site areas (collectively known as Mayo Park) [1] are accessed from Neals Store Road about 9 miles north of the city of Roxboro along NC 49. It is smaller than Hyco Lake (located on the northwestern side of Person County).
Hyco Lake is a reservoir in Person and Caswell counties, North Carolina. It is the area's main destination for fishing, boating, water skiing, wake boarding, and recreation and is the larger of Person County's two lakes, the other being Mayo Lake.
Lake James is a large reservoir in the mountains of Western North Carolina which straddles the border between Burke and McDowell Counties. It is named for tobacco tycoon and benefactor of Duke University James Buchanan Duke. The lake, with surface elevation of 1200 ft (366 m), lies behind a series of 4 earthen dams.
Reddies River. The Reddies River is a tributary of the Yadkin River in northwestern North Carolina in the United States. [5] Via the Yadkin it is part of the watershed of the Pee Dee River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean. According to the Geographic Names Information System, it has also been known historically as "Reddis River."
