New Albany High School is a public high school located in New Albany, Indiana, United States. Founded on October 3, 1853. New Albany High school is the oldest public high school in the state of Indiana. [3] The school was closed from 1859 to 1864 to be made into a hospital for union soldiers during the American Civil War. [4]
The New Albany-Plain Local School District is located in and around New Albany, Ohio in central Ohio, about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of downtown Columbus, Ohio. In 1821, a frame school building was built on Central College; the teacher was Jacob Smith. In 1874, a new brick school was built in the Village. In 1955, the Ohio General Assembly eliminated the requirement that cities and school districts have common borders. [3] The current New Albany High School was built in 1996.
