Martin Ludwig Bormann [2] (17 June 1900 – 2 May 1945) was a German Nazi Party official and head of the Nazi Party Chancellery, private secretary to Adolf Hitler, and a war criminal. Bormann gained immense power by using his position as Hitler's private secretary to control the flow of information and access to Hitler.
Bormann was born in Grünwald, Bavaria, the eldest of the ten children of the head of the Nazi Party Chancellery and private secretary to Adolf Hitler, Martin Bormann (1900–1945) and his wife, Gerda Buch (1909–1946). He was baptised in the German Evangelical Church with Adolf Hitler as his godfather. [1]
Albert Bormann (2 September 1902 – 8 April 1989) was a German National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK) officer, who rose to the rank of Gruppenführer during World War II. Bormann served as an adjutant to Adolf Hitler, and was the younger brother of Martin Bormann.
