A request for comment (RfC) is a way to ask the Wikipedia community for input on an issue. Often, the issue is what an article should say. Sometimes it is a proposal for a Wikipedia process or policy change .
Your own opinions should be posted in a separate comment, not in the question itself. (The question is the part of the page shown on one of the RFC listing pages, such as Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies.) Any publicizing of the RfC should also be neutral. One option is to say only that input is requested, with a link to the RfC.
A request for comment on user conduct (an RfC/U) is for discussing specific users who have violated Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Carefully read the following before filing an RfC. Disputes over the writing of articles, including disputes over how best to follow the NPOV policy, belong in Request comment through talk pages.
