    I would have to disagree with the assertion that the novel is pornographic, even if the entry merely says "almost" or some such thing. In fact, most of the sex is portrayed in such a way that the characters are indeed fleshed out and the action is left as decidedly less than erotic. I doubt that was Murakami's intent to begin with.
