All Game Boy titles have an original plot. Each game in the Game Boy series, excluding Mega Man V, features four bosses from its corresponding NES version and four bosses from the succeeding NES game in the series. I.e: the Game Boy version of Mega Man III features bosses from the NES versions of Mega Man 3 and Mega Man 4.
Bosses appear in many video games, particularly story or level-based first and third-person shooters, racing games, fighting games, platform games, survival horrors, role-playing video games, and most shoot 'em ups. Most games feature multiple bosses, each often more difficult than the last.

Rockman Battle & Fighters is a single-player fighting game.As in Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, players control one of four characters (Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass and Duo) and choose between three sets of boss battles with various Robot Masters from the first seven Mega Man games.
The bosses included are the Grey Devil (similar to the Yellow Devil featured in the original Mega Man), this boss is featured in the opening level of the game. Then the player can challenge the following Robot Masters: Dangan Man, Konro Man, Aircon Man, Komuso Man, Clock Men, and Compass Man. The final boss is Rockman Shadow.
