Montgomery College (MC) is a public community college in Montgomery County, Maryland. The school was founded in 1946 as Montgomery Junior College. Four years later, it absorbed the 57-year-old Bliss Electrical School, which became the junior college's electrical program. The college has three campuses, the largest of which is in Rockville.
Montgomery County Community College (MCCC or Montco) is a public community college with campuses in Blue Bell and Pottstown in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and online. It was founded in 1992 and is part of the Lone Star College System, serving the Montgomery County area. The school enrolled just over 9,200 credit students in the fall 2007 semester and is the only Lone Star College System college to offer biotechnology, physical therapist assistant, human services and land surveying degrees.

Montgomery Technical Institute became Montgomery Technical College in 1983, and in September 1987, the name was officially changed to Montgomery Community College. In 2007, the campus included facilities of approximately 125,000 square feet (11,600 m 2 ) on 153 acres (0.62 km 2 ) of land.
The college was founded as a merger between John M. Patterson Technical College (1961) and H. Councill Trenholm State Technical College (1963) in Montgomery.
