Delta Junction (Russian: Делта-Джанкшен; Ukrainian: Делта-Джанкшен, romanized: Delta Dzhankshen), officially the City of Delta Junction, is a small city in Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, Alaska, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 958, up from 840 in 2000. The 2018 estimate was down to 931.
Quartz Lake is a mid-sized lake about 10 mi (16 km) north of Delta Junction, Alaska.It was named Quartz Lake by early mineral prospectors in the area. [1] Much of the lake shore is private property but the Quartz Lake State Recreation Area is also located on the lake via a short access road from the Richardson Highway.
The Tangle Lakes complex, 24 miles (39 km) long, that feeds the Delta River has "some of the best road-accessible grayling fishing in Interior Alaska". [7] In the deeper lakes of the system, lake trout are fairly abundant. Lakes and streams that are away from the highway and accessible only by canoe or trail are the least heavily fished.
