Highway Patrol is a 156-episode action crime drama series produced for syndication from 1955 to 1959. It was "one of the most popular syndicated series in television history", [1] and it was the first American series broadcast in West Germany on that country's commercial TV channel.
Police spot two motorcyclists racing each other on the streets of Epping. One pulls over but the other does a runner. A driver gets belligerent over the amount of trouble he is in and complains about his truck getting impounded. When members of the Highway Patrol set up a covert sting, it causes chaos.
A second season was announced by Channel Seven on 18 November 2009 [9] which premiered 2 February 2010. A seventh season of Highway Patrol was announced on the show's official website on 13 July 2014. On 9 December 2014, Victoria Police announced on their official Facebook page that season eight had started filming and would air sometime in 2016.
The clip was filmed as part of the Australian reality show Highway Patrol. In the incident, Senior Constable Ash Bowden attends to an accident in a shopping centre car park, in Carrum Downs. He questions a man who appears to be drunk, who is sitting immobilized in the driver's seat of a car. [1]
I can't seem to find a meaning or origin of the proword "By". In the context demonstrated on the show, I take it to mean "you've reached me" or "go ahead with your traffic", but the show itself seems to be the only surviving evidence for this. I in the real world have responded to a query like "A to B" with "This is B, go ahead".
