The original online platform offering RTVE content was created in 2008 under the name RTVE a la carta or simply A la carta or alacarta.In late 2020, RTVE announced its intention to merge its A la carta service together with the embedded Playz streaming platform specifically dedicated to a young audience. Embedded within the RTVE webpage, [1] Playz was launched on 30 October 2017, [2] with the release of Colegas, Mambo [], Dorien and Inhibidos. [3] The launch was predated by the premiere of another original release on 11 September 2017, Si fueras tú, a transmedia fiction series loosely adapting the New Zealand series Reservoir Hill which served to promote the kickstart of the platform.
