In 2007, land was purchased for a new building to house the freshman (9th grade) class in order to relieve overcrowding at SLHS. The freshman campus, which opened in 2010, is named the "Fred T. Korematsu (FTK) Campus" after civil rights activist Fred Korematsu. The FTK campus is located at 13701 Bancroft Avenue, one block from the main campus.
