The Arkansas High School mascot and athletic emblem is the Razorback with red and white serving as the school colors. The high school mascot of the Razorback was selected in 1910 to replace the Cardinal as the University of Arkansas mascot. [4] In exchange for its use, the university provided used athletic gear; the practice is no longer continued.

The district's first school was a one-room schoolhouse established in 1877. The district was officially formed in 1916 as Pleasant Grove District when the Baker District and the Morriss District combined. The district had only an elementary school until 1977, when it opened Pleasant Grove Junior High.
