Kalyani Expressway is a 44.17-kilometre-long (27.45 mi), 4-6 laned, tolled expressway in the state of West Bengal, India. It connects Kolkata with its satellite city Kalyani and declared as an expressway by Government of West Bengal. [1] The road starts from Belghoria Expressway in Nimta and ends in Bansberia of Hooghly district.

State government proposed for realigning the line via Kalyani Expressway, instead of B.T. Road, due to the presence of arterial water pipelines, that supply water to the city, below BT Road. The construction might create huge traffic jam along the road and also damage the water pipelines, which will cutoff the city's water supply.
A brand new wide-body overbridge is being built near the ticket counter, the old bridge will be discarded soon. Halisahar station is well connected to the BT Road on west (also known as 85 bus route) and Kalyani Express way via Malancha Road on eastern side. Currently a new proper approach road is being built to this station on the eastern side.
