Naran (Hindko, Urdu: ناران, romanized: Nārān, IPA: [nɑːɾɑːn]) is a town and popular tourist destination in the upper Kaghan Valley in the Mansehra District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is located 119 kilometers (74 mi) from Mansehra city at an altitude of 2,409 meters (7,904 ft).

Saiful Muluk (Urdu: جھیل سیف الملوک) is a mountainous lake in northern Pakistan, located at the northern end of the Kaghan Valley, near the town of Naran in the Saiful Muluk National Park. At an elevation of 3,224 m (10,578 feet) above sea level, the lake is located above the tree line, and is one of the highest lakes in Pakistan.
The road is accessible by cars and motorbikes. The 2005 Kashmir earthquake in North Pakistan made access more difficult. However, since 2006 the Pakistan government has taken steps to restore tourism in the Kaghan Valley, including rebuilding and new tourism facilities and infrastructure.
Malika Parbat (Urdu: ملکہ پربت; Queen of the Mountains) (el. 5,290 metres (17,360 ft)) is the highest peak in Kaghan Valley and also the highest in the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. [2] It lies about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) south of Lake Saiful Muluk, near Ansoo Lake.
It will not cause large scale displacement of populations as no villages or towns will be inundated by the resulting dam's reservoir, [12] although a four kilometer section of the Kaghan-Naran highway will have to be diverted as a result of construction works and the resulting reservoir. [13]
