Warren Township has a trustee who administers rural fire protection and ambulance service, provides relief to the poor, manages cemetery care, and performs farm assessment, among other duties. The trustee is assisted in these duties by a three-member township board. The trustees and board members are elected to four-year terms. [12]
The city covers a 6-by-6-mile (9.7 by 9.7 km) square (from 8 Mile Road to 14 Mile Road, south to north) in the southwest corner of Macomb County (minus the city of Center Line, which is a small city totally enclosed within Warren). Warren shares its entire southern border with the northern border of the Detroit city limits.

Originally part of Jackson Township, Warren was made a separate township in 1834. The first settler in the area was A. F. Whiteman who located on Section 23 in 1830. [5] The John Young House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. [6]
Warren Township is one of thirteen townships in Putnam County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 3,408 (down from 3,929 at 2010 [ 3 ] ) and it contained 552 housing units. [ 4 ]
Washington Township is in northwestern Macomb County and is bordered to the west by Oakland County. The village of Romeo is partially in the northeast part of the township. Ray Township is to the east, Shelby Township is to the south, and Bruce Township is to the north. Washington Township is 28 to 34 miles (45 to 55 km) north of downtown Detroit.
