Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (or simply Hobbs & Shaw) is a 2019 buddy action comedy film directed by David Leitch from a script by Chris Morgan and Drew Pearce. [2] It is a spin-off film and the ninth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, taking place after the events of The Fate of the Furious (2017).
It is the first short film in the Fast & Furious franchise and is a follow-up to The Fast and the Furious (2001) and prequel to 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003). It stars Paul Walker. In the film, Brian O'Conner (Walker) leaves Los Angeles to evade police capture after aiding and abetting Dominic Toretto's escape from the law in the first film. [1] [2]
Hobbs recruits Dom and his team, comprising Letty, Roman Pearce, Tej Parker, and Ramsey, to help him retrieve the device. Meanwhile, DSS agents Luke Hobbs and Riley Hicks investigate the destruction of a Russian military convoy by a crew of mercenaries led by former British SAS operative, Owen Shaw. Hobbs locates Dom and convinces him to help capture Owen by showing him a photo of his supposedly murdered girlfriend, Letty Ortiz, who is working with Owen and his crew.
