Table lamp c. 1900–1906. A Tiffany lamp is a type of lamp made of glass and shade designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany or artisans, mostly women, and made (in originals) in his design studio. It was developed by Thomas Edison (1847–1931), patented in 1881, [1] and was licensed in 1909 under General Electric's Mazda trademark. The bulbs have right-hand threaded metal bases (caps) which screw into matching threaded sockets (lamp holders).
