The German Genealogy Group, also known by its acronym, the GGG, was established in early 1996 to provide mutual support among those interested in researching their Germanic ancestors. In 1999 the GGG was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation under the laws of the State of New York.
Database updated December 31, 2022. This database currently contains the indexes to 5,319,846 death records from 1862 to 1948 for the five boroughs of New York City (Bronx, Kings, Manhattan, Queens and Richmond).
GGG Members are given access to the Members Area of this web site, which includes: a) the ability to contact other members via email. b) the German Genealogy Group Guidebook, full of useful information to kick start a new member's research or to reinvigorate an experienced researcher.
Database updated 17 Aug 2021, with almost 17,000 additional names. Total now is over 149,500. You can find the name of the town your German ancestors emigrated from by using this Database. The German Emigration Database has been compiled from emigration notices printed in newspapers.
