Colerain will not compete in the Big school division and honestly outside of football they have not for 5+years. NW will struggle where ever they land when their conference folds. NW may be like Mt Healthy and go to the CMAC and Colerain could just be a middletown and be a whipping post for the rest of the GMC in most sports for a few years.
Bolden leaving and the ensuing decline of the football killed whatever morale there was throughout the district. It's sad to see the state of the Colerain football program. Reactions: ogealbhain and cincifbfan

Coombs and Bolden built and enhanced the program, starting in grade school. Those two are the main two reasons for Colerain's success. Colerain had some bad a** teams during their tenures. Great coaches build great programs. You can't replace what those 2 did for Colerain, and when you add open borders to their departure, it spiraled.
I'm sure the Colerain faithful want a big name/established coach hire, but honestly, the job doesn't offer much. It's a crumbling building, lack-luster facilities, a community that struggles passing a levy, a school board that makes horrible bad decisions for the district and a football program that will struggle to compete with the upper tier ...

Over the past 5 seasons, Colerain has 15 victories and a win-loss total of 15W/36L (an average of 3 wins per season). It has been over 2 years since the Cardinals have won a single game, with the last program win coming in October 2022. Do the Cardinals turn the page again after only 2 years...
I actually attended a couple times. It was fun seeing their pride and excitement. I wonder if they still get together. I shocked one Colerain fan when I got him some Ohio State tickets. I guess he thought I was a real douche because of the banter on Yappi. LOL I like to poke a stick at some of the Colerain's fan arrogance back in their day.
We had this same discussion about Princeton leaving the GMC in when they had 1 winning season from 2012-2018. Now they are a top 5 team in the region and won the GMC back to back years. If Colerain can keep all the Colerain kids in Colerain, and combine with Northwest, they'll have some talented classes come through and be competitive again.
