The English football league system, also known as the football pyramid, is a series of interconnected leagues for men's association football clubs in England, with five teams from Wales, one from Guernsey, one from Jersey and one from the Isle of Man also competing.
This is a list of football clubs that compete within the leagues and divisions of the men's English football league system as far down as Level 10 (Step 6), that is to say, six divisions below the Premier League/English Football League. The National League was formed in 1979 from leading teams in the Northern Premier League and Southern League and was known originally as the Alliance Premier Football League and from 1986–87 as the Football Conference. Support for such a league came from Alan Hardaker, the long serving Secretary of the Football League.
