5. They're called cluster flies. They find a way into your house and leave their scent on the trail so others follow. We had them hanging out in our skylights and would find the dead ones all over the house. We bought some things called 'cluster busters' - that attach to the window where they hang out.
Show 2 more comments. Sorted by: The flies could be getting in from the septic tank if one or more P-traps has dried out. If a P-trap that has completely dried you could check it by pushing something flexible down the drain a few feet and see if it is wet when you withdraw it. Unfortunately a P-trap does not need to have completely dried out to ...
Houseflies typically come from their eggs, which are laid by adult houseflies on decaying organic matter such as food waste or animal feces. The eggs hatch into larvae, also known as maggots, which then go through several stages of growth before becoming adult flies. 2.
I noticed that flies were flocking around a light in my open air carport whether it was on or off. I tried a few products like fly tape, spray and a fly trap. Still no results. The flies usually fly toward the sunlight coming through window and they are attracted to the mixture. A couple of weeks ago, there were 20+ dead flies in the glass.

He got home and realized there was some very old produce on top of the fridge, hiding behind a bunch of boxes. He tossed it out, and the fruit flies disappeared. –
About the cold: I went camping for 11 days, and cleaned the house before I left. I brought some onions inside and put them in the fridge assuming any fruit flies would die in that time. When I got home I set the onions out because there were no flies in the house. The next day a cloud of them exploded out of the onions when I picked them up.
