The Orange Line is an 17.1-mile (27.5 km) [5] light rail line in the San Diego Trolley system, operated by San Diego Trolley, Inc. an operating division of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS). [4] The route connects downtown San Diego with the cities of Lemon Grove, La Mesa, and El Cajon.

Of the former streetcar carhouses, only Arborway and Watertown were Green Line yards during part of the MBTA era. Everett was an Orange Line yard until 1975.
The MBTA is in the process of replacing its entire fleet of Red Line and Orange Line cars, which are over 40 years old, as of 2024. [14] The Blue Line cars were replaced in 2008. The Green Line has a variety of vehicles, some dating back to 1986, with the latest batch delivered in 2019.

Also later known as the East Line, the line operated from 12th & Imperial to Spring Street before being extended further east one month later. [5] This station was renovated from October 17, 2011 [7] through fall 2012 [6] as part of the Trolley Renewal Project, although the station remained open during construction.
