Update: Added filter to HF 20 ton splitter. Valve is threaded NPT so filter block was easy to mate. Was unable to find conversion fittings to hose threaded at 22 x 1.75.
Feb 26, 2017. #1. Hello everyone. I've done a bunch of searches not only here but also general google searches trying to get some certainty on this to no avail. I've got a Husky (Speeco) 22 ton log splitter with a Briggs 650 Series 190CC engine (Model 124T02-0121-B1) on it. After 7-8 years and many many hours of service it's time to replace it.
It was on sale from $1599 to $1399, and I wanted one that day. I only had 10 cord split this year, but I sold out two weeks before Thanksgiving, paid for the machine with a little left for me. Next year I hope to have 20 cord, and that's all for me. I put it on my credit card to defer the payments a month, it helped.
Greyhound ITEM # 66663. 9 HP, 24 Ton Log Splitter. It's on sale right now for $749 and with the 20% off coupon that makes it 599.80 plus the freight which puts it right back at 749 with tax out the door for me. I could not pull any specs other than it has a 9hp greyhound engine with an 11gpm pump. there is no reference to what cylinder size ...
It is actually on sale now so it is about $50 less They are similar designs but I would be very leery of the HF one as it says in the description it will split logs as thick as 8 inches. I don't even split logs that small. Sounds to me like that thing is for making kindling.
Michigan. Apr 1, 2016. #14. Just got a flyer from HF and the 212cc 6.5 HP engine is on sale for $99.00 again. The idem number for the hemi version is 60363. It has a 3/4 inch shaft and just buy a love joy coupler with a 3/4 inch hole to fit the engine shaft and if the pump coupler isn't a love joy then buy that end also.
So you can eliminate any electrical or safety components from the equation (i.e. low oil sensor, ignition coil, spark plug, on/off switch, etc.) 1: Pull the fuel line off at the carb and see if fuel is flowing through it. If it is, drain it all out and get new. 2: Take the bowl off the carburetor.
I recently purchased a 30 ton Harbor Freight splitter, model 91840. This is the 30 ton, w/ a 9HP Subaru-Robin engine, 16gpm Haldex pump, and a 5" cylinder. I picked this unit for three main reasons... 1. Price - I paid $1299 for the splitter, plus $87 for shipping to MA (I also had to pay about $40 for 5 gallons of hydraulic oil).

I just looked at a 20 ton dual split model made by Brave, and it probably costs around 1400 dollars or so. But the design is much better, the hydraulic cylinder is enclosed inside a heavy piece of steel square channel that slides back and forth inside another piece of square channel.
