Stablewood was developed on the family country estate of Harry C. Weiss. [4] The Weiss family had owned an interest in the land since the 1920s. [5] The estate included a house designed by John Staub in 1930. [4] The stable, which the Weiss family had converted into a party house, is located on a dedicated 3-acre (1.2 ha) site. [5]
