Brook Sixth Form and Academy is a university technical college located in Dagenham in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, England. It opened in September 2014 as Elutec (East London University Technical College) and changed its name in September 2023. Pupils from Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Thurrock attend the UTC.
Dagenham also has many other parks such as Valence - and Parsloes (which lies partly in the pre-1965 borough of Barking). Dagenham Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, founded by John Johnson, was the first British Drum Corps and performed in the United States for the first time in 1983. Eastbury Secondary School was founded at Dawson Ave in 1931. After the implementation of the tripartite system, it became a secondary modern.It merged with South East Essex Secondary Technical School in 1970 and moved to Rosslyn Road to become Eastbury Comprehensive School when the scheme was abolished.
The school is heavily oversubscribed accommodating over 2,050 students. In September 2015 it was revealed that Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council were considering asking Robert Clack School to significantly expand to accommodate 2,500 pupils, which would make the Robert Clack the biggest secondary school in England. The Elutec university technical college moved to the site in 2015. [2] It changed its name to Brook Sixth Form and Academy in September 2023. [3]Planning permission for the Eastbrook Studios film studios complex on the site was granted in July 2020.
