Los Donneños were a 1950s Mexican Norteño duo formed by Ramiro Cavazos and Mario Montes and named after Donna, Texas. [1] Ramiro Cavazos was the lead singer and played the bajo sexto, while Mario Montes was second voice and played the accordion. On some recordings they were joined by a string bass player, Rafael Gaspar.

There was a concert performance of the work in 1985 by the Opera Orchestra of New York , conducted by Eve Queler and more recently one by the American Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leon Botstein at New York's Avery Fisher Hall in October 2008.

Marco Pérez (born March 17, 1977) is a Mexican actor and writer. He began his artistic career working in experimental theater in Jalisco.After moving to Mexico City he was cast as Ramiro in the film Amores perros directed by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu in 2000.
Cavazos Lerma was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas on 12 March 1946; son of Manuel Cavazos Rodríguez and Clara Lerma Sánchez. He studied economics at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (1963–1968), where he later served as a professor.
