"Worzel in Revolt" (21 November 1981) After a particularly outrageous series of adventures, the Crowman has Worzel and Aunt Sally hide out at his home, serving as his parlor maid and valet. When Aunt Sally bullies and charms Worzel into doing all of her work for her, the Crowman makes him a Disobedient Head so he can stand up to her.
From 1979 to 1981, she played Aunt Sally in the ITV children's series Worzel Gummidge opposite Jon Pertwee and Barbara Windsor, [12] and was for several years a team captain in the weekly game show Give Us a Clue in the 1980s, reuniting her with Lionel Blair, the other team captain. [2]
This was a significant change from the original books, where Aunt Sally is, in fact, Worzel's aunt. The Crowman, who made Worzel and some of his other scarecrow friends, was played by Geoffrey Bayldon (who read Worzel Gummidge Again in November 1974 on BBC1's Jackanory), better known for his starring role as the title character of Catweazle.
