Congressional district. 4th. Pontotoc County is a county in the south central part of Oklahoma. As of the 2020 census, the population was 38,065. [1] Its county seat is Ada. [2] The county was created at statehood from part of the Chickasaw Nation in Indian Territory. It was named for a historic Chickasaw tribal area in Mississippi.

The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Ada Public Library in 1989. [1] The building was built in 1939 to serve as the public library of Ada.
