It is based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen / Flash , a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to move at superhuman speeds.
Eobard Thawne (portrayed by Tom Cavanagh in the form of Harrison Wells; main: seasons 1–6; recurring: season 8; guest: season 7 and 9; and by Matt Letscher in his original likeness; guest: seasons 1–3, 8–9) is a time-traveling criminal, a future descendant of Eddie Thawne, and the archenemy of Barry Allen.
