Mohakhali Inter District Bus Terminal or Mohakhali Bus Terminal is one of three main inter-city bus stations in Dhaka, [1] opened in 1984. [2] Located in the Mohakhali neighbourhood, it primarily serves destinations in northern Bangladesh , including Tangail , Mymensingh , Netrokona , Jamalpur , Sherpur , Kishoreganj and Bogura .

There is a major bus stand situated in Gulistan, called the Gulistan (Fulbaria) Bus Station, built on the site of the former Fulbaria railway station. [5] The 11-kilometre-long (6.8 mi) Gulistan–Jatrabari Flyover was opened in October 2013 to ease traffic jams and reduce travel time from the usual one hour to just five minutes. [6]

On 23 October 2022, the government signed an agreement with Nippon Koei Bangladesh Limited to join the company as a consultant for MRT Line 1. [8] In the same year, the government entered into an agreement with Tokyo Construction and Max Infrastructure for the land development work of the only depot of the proposed project at Pitalganj. [ 5 ]
In 2020, Bangladesh Railway and Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited have decided to connect Kamalapur railway station with MRT Line 6 of Dhaka Metro Rail. But as the current station could not match the proposed route of MRT Line 6, it was decided to demolish the Kamalapur station and construct a new one 130 meters north. [ 34 ]
