The Indonesia Open was founded in 1974 as an event on the Asia Golf Circuit. [1] [2] It remained on the circuit until the end of the 1996 season, after which it joined the rival Asian PGA's Omega Tour for the 1997 season.

The Indonesia PGA Championship was a golf tournament held in Indonesia. It was sanctioned by the Asian Tour in 1996 and 1997, the OneAsia tour from 2011 to 2014, and also co-sanctioned by the Japan Golf Tour in 2013 and 2014. The purse in 2014 was US$1,000,000.
The 1st and 2nd Indonesian Masters 21–24 April 2011 and 19–22 April 2012, was won by Lee Westwood. [2] [3] The 3rd Indonesian Masters will be held on 2–5 May 2013.The tournament was played on the South-West course with West course as holes 1 to 9 and South course as holes 10 to 18.

Golf at the 2018 Asian Games was held at Pondok Indah Golf Course, Jakarta, Indonesia, from 23 to 26 August 2018 and featured four events: the men's individual and team events and women's individual and team events. [1] The event was open to amateur players only.
