Pickaway County is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,539. [2] Its county seat is Circleville. [3] Its name derives from the Pekowi band of Shawnee Indians, who inhabited the area. (See List of Ohio county name etymologies.) Pickaway County is part of the Columbus, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.
SR 762 begins at a signalized intersection with US 62 / SR 3 to the south of Harrisburg in Darby Township; to the north, the road continues as Pickaway County Route 20. SR 762 heads south for about 0.3 miles (0.48 km) before it makes a left turn to cross the Big Darby Creek where it enters Scioto Township .
As the road crosses over Mud Run and exits South Bloomfield, the road name becomes Pickaway Street. The road then enters Ashville as West Main Street. In the center of town, SR 316 turns north onto Long Street. The route ends at a four-way intersection with SR 752 though the road continues ahead as County Route 28. [2]

Brooks-Yates was a school operated by Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities that provided services to Pickaway County students with developmental disabilities. The school was moved to Teays Valley's main campus in Ashville from Circleville in 2016. [35] The school ultimately closed in 2021, following a decline in enrollment. [36]
