Arthur Loomis Sanborn (November 17, 1850 – October 18, 1920) was an American lawyer and judge. He was United States district judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin , appointed by President Theodore Roosevelt , he served from 1905 until his death in 1920.
Civil rights activist Betty Franklin-Hammonds established the paper in April 1991. It was initially a sister publication of the Milwaukee Times, which had bought the Wisconsin Free Press, a Black-focused paper that published sporadically in Madison in the 1980s. [1] Hammonds stated that the paper operated separately within its first few months.
Charles Kenneth Leith (January 20, 1875 – September 13, 1956) was an American geologist. He was head of the University of Wisconsin geology department for 30 years. In 1942, he was awarded the Penrose Medal by the Geological Society of America , [ 1 ] the highest award given in the geosciences.
