Pittsburgh Public Schools is the public school district serving the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and adjacent Mount Oliver, Pennsylvania. As of the 2021–2022 school year, the district operates 54 schools with 4,192 employees (2,070 teachers) and 20,350 students, and has a budget of $668.3 million. [ 3 ]

The village name refers to the River Wye nearby, that also flows through High Wycombe. In manorial records in 1241 the village was referred to as La Ludewatere. St Peter's Church, Loudwater. The brick built St Peter's Church dates from 1788 with a gothic style chancel added in 1903 and further improvements in recent years, including new windows.

The eastern edge of the neighborhood, north of Regent Square and east of Frick Park, comprises the neighborhood of Park Place. [5] The Shady Side Academy Junior School sits here, as does Environmental Charter School, a Pittsburgh Public School that operates as a charter school in the building originally known as Park Place School.
The school is one of oldest schools still open in the City of Pittsburgh. The school added a new building with a glass bridge connecting the two buildings, in 2007 circa. The school is under Pittsburgh Public Schools direction, and led by Superintendent Anthony Hamlet. The new building was built in the early 2010s and a bridge is connected.
