The Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) is a military training facility of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). It comprises five schools organised into three camps, of which two are based on Pulau Tekong, an island off the northeast coast of mainland Singapore, while the third camp is in Kranji in northwest Singapore.

Personnel Command (PERSCOM) is the executive command for the manpower operations of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and shared services between the SAF and Ministry of Defence (MINDEF). In peacetime, PERSCOM performs human resources administrative functions for the SAF and MINDEF, including office administration, documentation and records keeping.
The 1st Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, which was based in the nearby Nee Soon Camp, then occupied Dieppe Barracks from 1971 to 1989. The 3rd Division was formed on 31 August 1970 with six units under its command, which was then known as Area III Command HQ. On 1 May 1976, Area III Command was redesignated as the 3rd Singapore Infantry Division. It became the Singapore Army's first combined arms division on 21 March 1991 and has since been known as the 3rd Singapore Division.
