The PBS Kids Writers Contest is an annual art and literature competition for students grades kindergarten to 12 in the United States. The competition was relaunched under the name PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest in 2009 as a continuation from its predecessor called Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest [ 1 ] which was started in 1995.
A student competition is any student event where an individual or a team compete for a prize, where skill is the main predictor of the winner. There can be a competition between students or teams of students within a classroom or across different schools and across geographical regions.
Teams of students arrive at the competition with a Rube Goldberg machine designed to accomplish the task of the year. Teams of students compete with machines designed to complete the same task under identical parameters. Each machine, depending on age level, must use anywhere from 10-75 steps and complete the task within two minutes.
The National Kids-in-Print Book Contest for Students is a literary competition held by Landmark House (formerly Landmark Editions) of Kansas City, Kansas. [2] It was launched by David Melton , one of the publisher's staff members.
