An acoustic remake called Animals Acoustic was released on 3 October 2018 to celebrate the album's tenth anniversary. TTNG brought Stuart Smith back to perform the vocals, as well as joining the band for the Animals 10th Anniversary Tour, where the band performed the entirety of Animals at each performance.

The first incarnation of The Animals was dissolved in September 1966. Animals lead singer Burdon then formed "Eric Burdon & The (New) Animals", with Jenkins as the only band member, other than Burdon, from the previous line-up. Along with studio musicians, the two recorded the album, Eric Is Here, recorded in late 1966 and released in March 1967.
