The Fischer Store Road bridge over the Blanco River west of Wimberley was destroyed by flood waters. The Blanco River, downstream from the bridge, at Wimberley reached a record crest. The gauge failed at 40 feet and the USGS later estimated the crest at 44.9 feet with peak flow of 175,000 cubic feet per second (5,000 m 3 /s).
Wimberley also hosts the Wimberley Zipline, which offers 10 lines, or a 1 mile (1.6 km) of line. The longest is 900 feet (270 m) long. While on the zipline, visitors may go up to 30 miles per hour (48 km/h) and will experience a panoramic view of the Wimberley Valley, seeing as far as 15 miles (24 km).
