[2] The average annual snowfall at the park is about 12 feet (370 cm). The park is named for Blue Knob, the second highest mountain in Pennsylvania at 3,146 feet (959 m). [2]

Average snowfall is about 12 feet (3.7 m) annually, while temperatures usually are 10 to 12 °F (5.6 to 6.7 °C) cooler than in the surrounding towns.
