Palmer Park is a 296-acre (120 ha) public park next to Detroit, Michigan's Palmer Park Apartment Building Historic District. It is named for U.S. Senator Thomas Witherell Palmer , who initially created the park when he donated 140-acre (57 ha) for a city park in 1893 [ 1 ] on the condition that the virgin forest be preserved. The Palms is an apartment building located at 1001 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. It was one of the first buildings in the United States to use reinforced concrete as one of its major construction materials. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. [1]

An apartment house was built on the site where the bays were removed. By 1929 Detroit artist Roman Kryzanowski was renting and living in his studio located on this property. He died in his studio on July 31, 1929. [9] After Trowbridge's death, the house remained in the family, and was converted to a rooming house in 1936.
