Harry H. Corbett (28 February 1925 – 21 March 1982) [1] was an English actor and comedian, best remembered for playing rag-and-bone man Harold Steptoe alongside Wilfrid Brambell in the long-running BBC television sitcom Steptoe and Son (1962–1965, 1970–1974).
Born in Marylebone in London, Corbett is the daughter of actor Harry H. Corbett (known for the BBC Television sitcom Steptoe and Son) and his second wife Maureen (née Blott). She attended Moira House School in Eastbourne, East Sussex, and trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School, Debden, Loughton, Essex.
The two main characters in the show are Albert Steptoe (Wilfrid Brambell) and Harold Steptoe (Harry H. Corbett). They have a large extended family who appear occasionally including many of Albert's brothers and sisters, among them Auntie May ( Rose Hill ), Uncle Arthur ( George A. Cooper ) and Auntie Minnie ( Mollie Sugden ).

Brambell was born on 22 March 1912 in Dublin, the youngest of three sons born to Henry Lytton Brambell (1870–1937), a cashier at the Guinness Brewery, and his wife, Edith Marks (1879–1965), a former opera singer. His two older brothers were Frederick Edward Brambell (1905–1980) and James Christopher Marks "Jim" Brambell (1907–1992).
