In 2014, the school celebrated the 75th anniversary of Broadway Campus and the 50th anniversary of the Foxland Campus. [1] Previously a community school administered by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, in February 2016 The Kingsway School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Education Learning Trust.
Previously a community school administered by Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council, Wallasey School converted to academy status in February 2015. However the school had already been renamed The Kingsway Academy in September 2014. On 3 July 2017 it was confirmed by the school that it would close down in August 2018. [3]

[10] Under a 2011 proposal, Kingsway would have merged with its constituent member's K-6 districts to become a full K-12 district, with various options for including Logan Township as part of the consolidated district. The school serves students from East Greenwich Township, Logan Township, South Harrison Township, Swedesboro and Woolwich Township. [8] [9] [10] As of the 2023–24 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,984 students and 138.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.4:1.
Extensions to the school were opened on 4 June 1926. The first headteacher was Mr. H.G. Mayo, M.A. It was administered by the County Borough of Wallasey. By 1968 it had 700 pupils.
