Before becoming an evil scientist, Doofenshmirtz was a bratwurst street vendor until being put out of business by the hot dog industry. Doofenshmirtz usually monologues [2] and displays acts of cartoon-style physical violence [15] towards his nemesis Perry, a skilled anthropomorphic platypus secret agent. His last name is frequently abbreviated ...
As a result, Perry's nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, comes out unharmed from the effects of the now-destroyed machine. Over time, everything is altered and the Tri-State Area becomes childproof for fear of a repeat of Phineas and Ferb's dangerous activities. Doofenshmirtz eventually gains the upper hand, effectively becoming the ruler.
For his hardship, Doofenshmirtz seeks revenge and plans on destroying all of the lawn gnomes he has stolen using his new invention: The "destruct-inator". Perry soon breaks out of his trap, and begins to brawl with the mad scientist, which inadvertently causes the machine containing all of the gnomes to malfunction.

The third season of Phineas and Ferb first aired on Disney Channel on March 4, 2011, and on Disney XD on March 7, 2011. The five main characters include stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, the boys' older sister Candace Flynn, secret agent Perry the Platypus (who is also Phineas and Ferb's pet), and the evil scientist Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
The writers purposely left the time machine available to the boys at the end of the episode in order to reuse it later in the series, which they did in the season 2 episode "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo." Critical reception was generally positive, and multiple reviewers applauded Perry and Doofenshmirtz's relationship in the episode.
