Kshama Sawant (/ k ə ˈ ʃ ʌ m ɑː s ɑː ˈ w ʌ n t / kə-SHUM-ah sah-WUNT; born October 17, 1973) [1] is an Indian-American politician and economist who served on the Seattle City Council from 2014 to 2024.
