John Russell Gibson (May 6, 1939 – July 27, 2008) was an American professional baseball catcher who played for the Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1967 and 1972. Listed at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) and 195 pounds (88 kg), he batted and threw right-handed.
Russ Gibson hit two homers in his only game for Falmouth in 1957. In 1951, Falmouth entered a second franchise in the Cape League. Described as "young and spirited," [ 105 ] the Falmouth Falcons were composed mainly of players in their late teens and early twenties. [ 106 ]
