2024 World Masters Athletics Championships was the 25th in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships (WMAC) that took place in Gothenburg, Sweden from 13 to 25 August 2024. [1] [2] [3] These Championships were originally scheduled for 2023, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [4] [5] The main venue was Slottsskogsvallen.

The women's heptathlon at the 2023 World Athletics Championships was held at the National Athletics Centre Budapest on 19 and 20 August 2023. [1] The winning margin was 20 points which as of 2024 is the only time the heptathlon has been won by fewer than 40 points at these championships.
