66 Drive-In is a historic drive-in theater national historic district located on U.S. Route 66 in Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri. The theater opened on September 22, 1949, four years before the first local television stations signed on in the Joplin - Springfield area.
The school was rated the 3rd best high school in 2007 tied with Clements High School in the Houston region by the Houston Chronicle. Route 571 is a two-lane highway in Carthage, Missouri, replacing a former section of U.S. Route 71 Alternate (US 71 Alt.) with the realignment of US 71.Both termini are at Interstate 49 (I-49) and US 71; its northern terminus is Business I-49 and Route 171 at the western edge of Carthage and its southern terminus is I-49/US 71 at the southern edge of Carthage.
At this point, Route 571 ends and Route 171 and Business I-49, both of which join Route 96 and the road is a freeway. The first exit west of I-49/US 71, Route 96 turns off and becomes a two-lane road again. North of Joplin, Route 96 intersects Route 43. Approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) further west, Route 96 ends at Route 171.
